NEEDS

Members of AHSECA visited in May 2008, the schools of Farmoriah and Barenfory in Guinea-Conakry.

This visit allowed to:
  • Meet with local authorities
  • Meet with the teachers
  • Meet with the scholars in their environment
  • Evaluate the needs
  • Identify priorities
From the visit and focusing on the minimum needed, members came to the following conclusion for the only Primary school:

  • Serious lack of school books at all levels
  • Lack of educational stationary
  • Lack of educational means for teachers
  • Latrines in very bad conditions: 2 latrines for about 600 scholars
  • No medicine
  • No premises for teachers
  • No fences around the school: security issues
  • No library and no reading books
  • No cultural means and activity
